• I interviewed members of the High Springs community on the WallDogs; an art collective who planned to organize a mural painting session. The news had the small town in an uproar. Some people supported the idea because it would generate more revenue from incoming tourists. Others were concerned that the outsiders would ruin the city's historical red brick walls.

• I photographed one of my sources in front of a well-known mural in High Springs.

• I attended a city commission meeting, conducted background research, and interviewed locals in order to write my story.

• My reporting on this story taught me how to locate and preserve relationships with sources.

• I learned how to balance different perspectives on a situation.

• I am able to create effective data visualizations.

• I became proficient in AP Style.
